K-5 Grammar School Class Information

Full Day Kindergarten
5 years or more by September 1st
Mon – Fri 8:30 AM to  3:20 PM

Building on the preschool program’s foundation for learning, our kindergarten program offers a creative learning environment with an intentional focus on language, literacy and numeracy: reading, writing, spelling, math, science, history and Bible. Learning is enriched through focused instruction with specialists in music, art, Spanish and physical education. A creative, nurturing and sequential learning environment promotes character development through a Biblical worldview.

1st – 5th Grades
Mon – Fri 8:30 AM to 3:20 PM

Our elementary program builds on the kindergarten foundation by using classical studies to emphasize mastery and skill development in reading, spelling, English, writing, math, science, history and geography. Classical literature selection for all ages emphasizes quality in language, themes, story development and illustrations. Our sequential historical, Biblical spine is the central piece that connects elementary learning into a meaningful whole. Bible, history, literature and art are combined to create an integrated approach to the humanities. Specialists teach music, art, Spanish, Latin and physical education. Opportunities for drama and readers theatre are incorporated into the classroom. Fourth and fifth grade classes learn significant team leadership and project management skills through the Student Leadership Council. This equipping uniquely prepares them with servant leadership skills, presentation opportunities and decision-making processes for their middle school years. A creative, nurturing and intentional learning environment promotes character development through a Biblical worldview.

After School Club:
Mon – Fri 3:20 PM to 5:30 PM
You will have the option to enroll your child(ren) in our after school Club Program which will include fun activities such as Running Club, Chess Club, Science Club, Drama Club, and more!

Specialty Class Information
In addition to the biblically influenced curriculum, our Classical Christian Education includes  Specialty Classes for our elementary students, taught by  instructors who are truly specialized in their particular field. These arts allow our students to flourish not only academically, but also aesthetically, socially, and physically.  To learn about our Specialist Teachers, Click Here!

Spanish/Latin
Students at every grade level are immersed in the Spanish language. Simple, clear, theme-centered language repeated often and rich in environmental cues enable students to access language with confidence.  Students also learn in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, the rudimentary forms of Latin which enrich our English language.

Music
Students learn to build their musical skills at each grade level. From learning beat & rhythm to reading notes and learning instrumental techniques.  Students also learn vocal skills, focusing on not only melody but harmony as well.

Drama
We believe drama enables students to express themselves creatively and develop key skills in speech presentation and vocal dynamics.

Art
Students at FPCS will have the opportunity to develop their artistic abilities by becoming familiar with the basic elements of art (line, shape, color, value, space, form and texture).  Art history is woven into many classroom projects.  Students will be introduced to art movements and styles common to the time period that they are studying in their classrooms.  Because FPCS is a Classical Christian School, students will be encouraged to explore their God-given talents as we learn to appreciate and observe His Creation all around us.  At times, other studies will be tied into the classroom projects (cultural studies, math, Bible, science and history).
